Becoming a mother is something that every woman will cherish. Still, those changes that your body goes through during the first trimester can be hard to take. If you are feeling uncomfortable with your body at the moment, you can rest assured that you will begin to feel better as your pregnancy begins to progress.
Since your body is changing, it only makes sense that your diet should change too. This means that you will have to start eating different than you did before. Not only will you have to alter the kinds of foods that you consume, but you’ll also have to consider the types of things that you’ll need to gain from your diet.
You will have to boost your energy levels during the first trimester. In order to have lots of strength during your pregnancy, energy is vital. This is why many experts recommend that you increase your daily calorie intake by 100 calories. Of course, this means that you’ll have to monitor the amount of calories that you are currently consuming (do this for a few days), and then adjust that amount by adding 100 extra calories.
The other thing that you should do is try and increase the amount of iron, folic acid, and calcium that you ingest. Also, you’ll have to decrease that caffeine intake…more on that subject coming up soon. Your pregnancy can be a wonderful experience if you eat right and take care of your body. Those small changes that your body is currently going through will be hard at first, but they will become easier over time.
Try and be aware of the foods that you are eating. If a certain type of food doesn’t make your body feel well, go ahead and avoid it during your pregnancy – your tastes may change during those nine months. Remember to enjoy your pregnancy – it is a feeling like no other feeling in the world.
